Today the last Medici family residence of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, houses 6 museums. This tour will allow you to visit: the Palatine Gallery; along with the royal apartments, you will be able to visit a rich collection of art which includes the works of Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio, Rubens and other Renaissance and 17th century masters. The Royal Apartments occupy 14 magnificent rooms of the palace and include period pieces of furniture, decorations, and artworks from the 16th to the 19th century. The Modern Art Gallery is situated on the second floor of the palace and exhibits XVIII to XX century art, giving particular attention to the Macchiaioli movement.
The Costume Gallery is situated in the Meridiana building. The Gallery holds more than six thousand pieces which include ancient and modern attire, accessories and costumes. It can be considered the only museum of the history of Style in Italy. The Museo degli Argenti: on the ground floor and the split level of the palace, we can find the Summer Apartments of the Medici family. The Medici treasure in held there: it includes the semi-precious stone vases of Laurence the Magnificent, the cameo incisions of Cosimo I, the rock crystals of Francesco I and so on. The silver pieces that give their name to the Argenti Galleria come from what is known as the Treasure of Salzburg, which was brought to Florence by Ferdinando III of Lorraine in 1815. One section is dedicated to Chinese and Japanese porcelain and miniature created between XVI and XX century. The Museo delle Porcellane: situated in the Palazzina del Cavaliere, this museum holds the most beautiful porcelain in Europe bought by Pietro Leopoldo and Ferdinando III. It is situated in the Boboli gardens, which can be visited, and which were the first example of Italian style garden in the Renaissance period.

In summer, in the Synagogues and in all the churches, it is obligatory to wear clothes that respect the venue, and therefore covered shoulders, skirts and dresses that fall below the knee, and long trousers are a must.
